Kisah Kenangan Seorang Michaelian
An Old Boy of SMI tell his story in SMI....
menceritakan mengenai siapa dalam gambar ini dan signifikannya kepada diri beliau..
Gambar masa darjah 6 ni di ambil sebelum game melawan Sek Megat Khas (Labrooy - sekolah Khalid Jamlus). Aku tak bergambar sebab time ni tak dtg sekolah sbb demam.
Tapi untukk kenang-kenangan beli la gambar ni selepas di cuci walaupun muka aku tak ada.. Kalau korang perasan lokasi gambar ni di ambil sama dgn lokasi penggambaran filem 'Sepet'..Masa Orkid dan boyfren dia bertengkar..SMI jadi lokasi sekolah Orkid dan kawan2nya. Luas kawasan ni..ada tiga court badminton terletak kat tepi kantin. Dikelilingi bangunan2 sekolah, pandai designer ni..bila main badminton, tidak lah 'dikacau' sangat oleh angin..Kalau tak, melayang2 la shuttle cock tu nanti..hehehe
Chee Wan Hoe berdiri tiga dari kanan, main bek.Dia ni masa sekolah 'gengster' skit.Form 1 atau Form 2 aaku tak ingat, Wan Hoe kena buang sekolah pasal kes curi basikal..hehehehe.Coach cikgu Ibrahim yg berdiri tengah tu. Anak dia bertinggung (Azril) pegang bola nombor 3 dari kanan. Game ni SMI menang ke atas Sek Megat Khas atau Labrooy 7-0. Playmaker yg kreatif Noor Zuraidi duduk dua dari kanan. Abg dia bekas pelumba cub-prix Malaysia mewakili Yamaha ( Noor Effendi ). Masa time sekolah kalau nak 'modified' motor aku dan geng2 lain jumpa abg dia. SMI dulu ada jugak kita punya 'Saravanan'. Duduk no2 dari kiri..nama 'N.Saravanan.'Mmg lincah mcm V. Saravanan..susah nak kekang dia bila bawak bola... Duduk 3 dari kiri pesaing aku dlm 100meter sekolah..Bergilir2 aku dgn dia pegang no1 dan 2. Nan Yusri nama mamat ni..eksyen skit..anak oghang kayeee ler katakan..
My best fren Habibul Rahman berdiri 3 dari kiri 'kaki racun' bila aku berlumba dgn Nan Yusri ni..Dia tak suka Nan ni menang..hehehehe..Sorang lagi best fren..Baba Hadil..(nama pelik skit) adik beradik dia sume nama pangkal 'Baba' tp bukan keturunan Baba dan Nyonya Melaka..kuikuikui..Aku still contact dgn Bib (Habibul) kerja kat Petronas dan Baba (memiliki pejabat Guaman sendiri). Skrg badan masyaallah..'gemuk skit' dan kepala botak tengah...
Byk fikir 'kes' la tuu..
Ada sorang member aku budak Serani, dia ni kighe gengster la jgk masa kat SMI..dah mati kena tembak dari jarak dekat masa keja kat Pub di Hotel Penang Mutiara sekitar 90an.Dia ni DJ kat situ, Badan/muka ala-ala Gigolo pun. Nama alamak...luper la pulak...Vincent ke Bernard ke..
Gobinathan berdiri 4 dari kanan score hatrick..Ivan Lui berdiri 6 dari kanan score 4 bijik.Affendi berdiri 4 dari kanan dah meninggal dunia accident tahun berapa aku tak pasti tp lepas SPM la..on the way masa nak pegi ke Pesta Lumut. Dia terbabas lalu terlanggor 'batu penanda kilometer' tu...kecederaan teruk di kepala..al-fatihah. Rumah dia teres corner lot belakang padang Lintau dekat area Silibin.
Masa form 4 dan 5, SMI dilatih oleh Karathu. Dtg pakai kapchai lampu bulat. Tak seorang pun team masa darjah 6 ni ada dlm pasukan Karathu.Training dgn dia mmg 'muntah hijo' lerr..Sapa2 yg isap rokok tu..termengah2 ler..Sessi panas badan..lari 10 round padang sekolah..
Zamzuri umah dia kat Kg. Sungai Tapah manakala Sham kat padang High Chapparal Sg. Tapah.(padang pasir langsung takde rumput).
SMI byk melahirkan jaguh sukan negara/negeri dan artis/celebriti tanahair..hehehee
1)Chan Swee Hwa - jaguh lompah jauh wanita
2)Linda Kwan atau Lydia Kwan ke..tak pasti ejaan nama dia - jaguh bowling masa dgn Shalin..Pernah dapat BMW sebijik sbb buat 'perfect game' tournament di Spore.
3)Shamsul Akmar/Zamzuri - bolasepak Perak
4)Charles David - pemain hoki Msia masa bersama R.Shanker dan Mirnawan.
5)Foo Keat Seong - pemain hoki Msia. Dia ni coach hoki SMI.
6) Norma - artis rock budak Manjoi..skrg nyanyi Kelab kut. Last dapat tahu dia nyanyi kat kelab dgn Alim (Kris)
7) Norliza Mohd Zain - pembaca berita perdana TV3 skrg ni..budak Kelebang. Last aku jumpa masa kat The Weld, Jln Raja Chulan.Kat sekolah ayu, putih melepak, bertudung labuh lepas dada..skrg hmmmm...bertambah lawa kalau jumpa face to face kat TV3
8)Keifi - jaguh lumba kereta - ex-hubby Linda Rafar
9)Ikram Dinzly-pelakon drama dan filem
last sekali...jgn tak percaya..
10) Roberto Falcao - pemain bolasepak Brazil dlm World Cup 1982 bersama2 Zico.

Selamat Hari Guru
Tomorrow 16th May is the day for the teachers. The most respected and noble job. In those days parents will let the teachers do whatever they want whether to scold, to slap or anything as long as their children become a a better man.
Time changes. The teachers are not immune. They are subject to civil suits if they do anything which can hurt the students. Even a minor hurt which actually to make the student "jadi pandai" the parents are reluctant to compromise. Too much love to their children until there are no more respect to the teachers.
Most of us forget that the teachers are the one who make us what we are today. Yes, the parents too. But it is not easy to make someone understand a knowledge. From zero to something in the brain. They have to sacrifice a lot. Sometime on Saturday where their time is for the family, they have to attend the school. Apart from teaching, they also have to share the burden of administrative works. Could you imagine the load of works that they have to carry.
But the students do not appreciate it. We take things for granted. We always waiting for the the last ringing of the bell. We only want a good results for SPM and leave the school immediately for the new journey of uncertain world.
Why the old boys wherever they go they always remember their alma mater or their school and their teachers. And why we remember our school friends rather than we remember our college mates or office mates? We have to answer it by ourselves. The answer that we share is a common answer.
Thank you for your effort in giving us "ilmu". Maybe our teachers are no longer in the school but a footstep of a teacher in SMI will be remained until the end of time.
And to the current teachers of SMI keep up your noble work and give our brothers in school a wonderful future.

A Month of Sports and Patriotism
Month of May is the month of many events. A moment of happiness and a month of sadness.
People appreciating their moms this month. They will say "Happy Mother's Day" or "Selamat Hari Ibu". When we look at the past May also is the month of tragedy. Who can forget the 13th May 1969. Some of us, the old boys had experienced the traumatic event that they will not want to remember or that will never forget.
Do we know what was happened at our school during that time? Eventhough the incident was happened mostly in KL area, I believe the tension and effect of the incidents might be occurred here. Let the history past and pray for a better life. As Malaysians and of course as a Michaelian who used to sit in the same class, learn from the same teacher, sharing the same toilet and playing in the same field we must not let hatred and racial differences of different skin colors separate and segregated us.
We are not from a one race school. We are not a Malay School, SJKC and SJKT but we are a multiracial school. We had prove it since we were young. Why cant we do the same in our post school life?
Thus this month of May our fellow Malaysians will bring the honour of a country. They will fight for the people of Malaysia in Badminton(Thomas Cup), Hockey(Sultan Azlan Shah Cup) and Football(Intercontinental Cup).
Our Michaelian Khoo Kien Kheat again will show to the world that despite his yo yo performance he is still the one who should be feared of.
We will also want to honour not just the present sport heroes but also who make SMI proud in those days or shall we call our past heroes.
Thank you to Michaelian heroes of 1967 Thomas Cup winners; Mohamad Abdul Hadi and Charles David( Hockey); Loo Kum Zee and Matthews David (Athletics), Chee Wan Hoe, Shamsul Akmar Jappery; Rushanizam Idrus, Lim Seng Kong (former Perak and National Footballers) and others who had contribute to the world of sports.

17th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, 8-18 May 2008
Seven nations in world of field hockey are in Ipoh for the 17th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. Countries such as the host, Malaysia, Pakistan, India, Argentina, Belgium, Canada and New Zealand competing to become the champions after Australia grabbed the crown in the previous edition.
We are seeded number 15 in the world. The first match against Pakistan saw Malaysia gave a tough game against the opponent. Our player scored the first goal but the former world and Olympic champion came from behind and emerged as the winner. Our young players have the speed but they were lack of ideas in penetrating the opponent's D area. This was happened again when the host nation played against the mighty Argentinian where we were thrashed 5-0 by the 7th seeded nation.
The consolation 3 points for Malaysia so far was grabbed when we won against the New Zealand. There are 3 more matches left for Malaysia to bounce back. A win against Canada, Begium and India will give the smile faces for the fans who wholeheartedly support the team and left all their normal routine to come to the stadium. Malaysia Boleh.
